How to use

  1. Set the length —— At least 12 characters; 16 or more for anything important.
  2. Choose the character sets —— All four ticked gives the strongest result. Untick symbols if an old system rejects them.
  3. Generate and save —— Copy the passwords into a password manager immediately — they exist only in this page and vanish on refresh.

About Password Generator

Almost every account compromise comes down to a password that was too short, reused across sites, or built from something guessable like a birthday or a phone number. Length does most of the work: twelve characters is a reasonable floor, and sixteen or more is what you want for anything that matters.

The randomness here comes from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographic source — markedly less predictable than the ordinary random function, which is designed for games and simulations rather than secrets.

Generated passwords exist only in the page. They are never sent anywhere, and they disappear when you close the tab, so copy them into a password manager as soon as you generate them.

FAQ

Are the generated passwords recorded anywhere?

No. They are created in your browser and displayed only on the page. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab discards them.

How long should a password be?

Twelve characters with a mix of character types is adequate for ordinary accounts. For banking and email, aim for sixteen or more, and never reuse one across sites.

What if I cannot remember them?

Use a password manager such as Bitwarden or 1Password. Writing passwords in a notes file or saving them in plain text in the browser is a greater risk than using a shorter password.
