How to use

  1. Choose images —— Drag them in or select them. Batch conversion is supported.
  2. Pick the target format —— WebP for websites, JPG for anything you will send to a person, PNG when you need transparency.
  3. Convert and download —— Each converted file appears with its own download link, or grab the whole batch at once.

About Image Converter

Each format has a job. JPG is small and ideal for photographs. PNG supports transparency and is the right choice for logos, icons and screenshots. WebP is the modern default for the web: at the same visual quality it is typically 25–35% smaller than JPG, and virtually every current browser supports it.

Converting to the right format often saves more space than compressing within the wrong one. A screenshot that has been saved as JPG, for example, will look smudged and be larger than the same image saved as PNG.

One thing to know: JPG has no alpha channel. When you convert an image with transparency to JPG, the transparent area has to become a solid colour — the tool uses the fill colour you choose, white by default.

FAQ

Is WebP widely supported?

Yes. Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari 14 or newer all handle it. If the image is destined for an old internal system, JPG is the safer choice.

Why did my transparent background turn white or black?

That is expected. JPG cannot store transparency, so the transparent area is filled with the colour you selected — white unless you change it.

Is there a limit on how many files I can convert?

No hard limit, but each image is held in memory. Twenty or so per batch keeps things smooth on an average laptop.
